Every day our engineers check links, test connections, read email headers, size cable runs and work through Cyber Essentials questions. osir puts those everyday checks online in one place, so anyone can use them, whether you run a business, manage a network or just want to know if a link is safe to click.

The tools are grouped into eight categories: Security & Privacy, Compliance & Training, Domains & Email, Network & Internet, Cabling & Electrical, Developer, Generators and Calculators. Every tool is free to use, with no trials, credits or premium tiers, and you never need an account, email address or password to open one.

osir is built and supported by three technology companies: IT Pro Expert, Ravtic and ShellySoft.

How osir protects your privacy

Privacy isn't a feature we bolted on afterwards. Wherever possible, osir tools run entirely in your browser, so what you type, paste or scan stays on your device. More than 30 tools work this way, including the Password Generator, Hash Generator, JSON Formatter, Subnet Calculator, IT Policy Generator and the QR Code Scanner, whose camera picture never leaves your device.

Where a tool does need to share something, it is built to keep it out of anyone else's hands:

Secure Chat encrypts messages and files in your browser before they are sent, using a key that exists only in the chat link. The server stores encrypted data it cannot read, and everything is deleted after 1, 24 or 48 hours.
The Password Strength Tester checks your password in your browser. Its optional breach check sends only the first five characters of the password's SHA-1 fingerprint, and your browser looks for the match itself, so the password is never sent.
The Bitcoin Paper Wallet Generator goes further still: the page blocks all network connections and loads no analytics, so keys made there never leave your device.

The site itself is hand-written code with no frameworks, adverts or third-party trackers, and it uses no advertising or analytics cookies. That also keeps it fast and light on any device.

A free tool can tell you something is wrong. Fixing it properly is where our engineers come in.
