Be cautious of companies that use unknown third parties to attempt their data recoveries. There are only a handful of truly professional companies who are capable of true data recovery and adhere to strict data safety and security practices.

If you don't choose to use us for your data recovery, check for one-star reviews at other companies before using them — there is a significant amount of scam data recovery companies out there. They claim high success rates, quote one thing but charge another, work on drives in non-clean environments causing further damage, and use inexperienced staff despite what their website may say.

What a recovery costs, before you commit

Each drive will have a unique repair procedure and an associated cost, and we will quote prior to continuing with the recovery work. There are no hidden costs. Typical costs are £400 to £900 for most recoveries, and £1,000 upwards for drives with significant physical damage. You will need to provide a replacement drive for your data to be returned on — or we can provide one at cost.

Note that prices are indicative and some recoveries in extreme situations may vary from these costs. We aim to provide all costs upfront. In the past few years not a single recovery has exceeded our original quote, but we cannot guarantee this.

Important to note

Most complex recoveries require sourcing an identical drive that is used for spare/donor parts, with very specific identifiers including country of manufacture, year/month match, board numbers, exact model numbers and sometimes partial serial numbers. This can take time and international postage, and these drives, even if old, are sold at high prices.
